WHAT IS YAYASAN DAMARA BALI CURRENTLY DOING TO HELP THE EDUCATION OF POOR CHILDREN IN THE VILLAGE?

Damara Bali Foundation continues to strive to help the education of poor children in remote villages in Bali, in Datah village Karangasem Bali. as for what can be done at this time is to provide financial assistance, improve the quality of education by utilizing information and communication technology through computer and English language training and provide learning motivation.

Providing financial assistance for poor students 

One of the main obstacles for poor children is financial limitations in accessing education. Therefore, Yayasan Damara Bali provides scholarships to outstanding poor children who are financially challenged. These scholarships can help them to continue their education without being hampered by financial problems.

In addition to scholarships, Damara Bali Foundation also provides financial assistance topoor children to fulfill their educational needs, such as buying books, stationery, and school uniforms. With this financial assistance, poor children can focus more on their education without feeling burdened by the cost of education. 

Providing computer training for poor students 

In this first phase we trained 30 poor children to learn computer and we will increase it in the next phase. Computer training for children can help improve digital literacy and IT skills. This training can be done with various methods, Free program that provides opportunities for children to access computer training. 

The training materials provided are:

• Basics of computer operation
• Use of office software such as Microsoft Office
• Introduction to social media such as WhatsApp Business and Instagram

The benefits of this computer training are to:

• Increase awareness and knowledge of computers
• Able to apply computers in everyday life
• Able to use computers to learn typing, make papers, school assignments, and written works
• Able to utilize the digital world positively

Providing English training for poor students 

Considering the importance of learning English for children, Yayasan Damara Bali organizes English training for poor children in the village, currently we train 60 children to learn English with very interesting conversation materials, they are trained by 2 English teachers once a week with a duration of 90 minutes.
