Yayasan Damara Bali Reopens English Classes in Desa Datah, Partnering with SMPN 4 Abang
Bali — Yayasan Damara Bali has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting equal access to education by opening a new English language class for students in Desa Datah, Abang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali.
The English learning program is being carried out in collaboration with SMP Negeri 4 Abang (Junior High School). This initiative is part of Yayasan Damara Bali’s ongoing efforts to provide greater learning opportunities for students in rural communities.
Gusti Putu Arnawa, Secretary of Yayasan Damara Bali, said that the program reflects the foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of education, particularly for children living in areas far from urban centers.
“We want to provide children in Desa Datah with the opportunity to access quality English language education. English is not only a subject taught at school, but also an important skill that can help young people pursue further education and prepare for the world of work,” said Gusti Putu Arnawa.
According to him, the English lessons will be conducted in a more interactive way, so that students not only understand the theory but also have opportunities to practice their speaking and communication skills in English. Currently, the new English class has 40 students.
The collaboration with SMPN 4 Abang is expected to be the first step toward developing a sustainable education program in Desa Datah.
Students will participate in various learning activities tailored to their level of ability. The learning methods are designed to create an enjoyable learning environment while also encouraging students to become more confident in using English in their daily lives.
Yayasan Damara Bali recognizes that access to quality additional education remains a challenge for some communities in rural areas. Therefore, the English class is expected to help reduce this gap and provide students with greater access to additional learning opportunities.
In addition to improving their academic abilities, the program also aims to build students’ confidence, communication skills, and global awareness.
Gusti Putu Arnawa added that Yayasan Damara Bali will continue to seek opportunities to collaborate with other schools across Bali.
“We hope this program will continue to grow and reach more schools and children in other areas. We believe that education is a long-term investment in the future of the younger generation,” he said.
The opening of the English class in Desa Datah is one of Yayasan Damara Bali’s concrete efforts to support equal access to education. Through collaboration between the foundation and schools, students in rural areas are expected to have greater opportunities to develop their potential and prepare for their future.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Villa Bugis and all our other donors who have contributed to this program. Your support is making a meaningful difference.
