Q3 Damara Helps 97 Poor Children Back to School

Damara Bali foundation and our generous sponsors have helped 97 poor children get back to school for 2019/2020. These children live in two villages in Bali, 69 children in Datah village, Abang district, Karangasem, and 28 children in Kedis village, Busungbiu District, Buleleng Regency. This year they were very happy because they are able to go back to school!

These children are the poorest children who live in disadvantaged areas on the island of Bali and are at risk of dropping out of school.

The Junior high school (SMP) children aged 13 to 15 years old who come from the poorest households, are five times more likely to drop out of school than children from the richest households.

The Damara Bali Foundation works with individual sponsors and Villa Bugis to provide uniforms and stationery to assist the most marginalized children aged 5-18 years old, and to those who are in humanitarian situations.

Reducing the number of school dropouts remains a top priority of Damara Bali Foundation.
