Education is a basic right for every child. However, not all students have equal access to educational facilities and infrastructure, especially those from underprivileged families. Therefore, this school supplies assistance program is carried out as a form of social concern to ease the burden on students in their learning process.

In an effort to support the education of children from underprivileged families, the Damara Bali Foundation held a social activity in the form of providing school supplies assistance to dozens of students in Datah Karangasem Village, Bali, on August 10, 2025.

This activity aims to ease the burden on parents ahead of the new school year, motivate students to be more enthusiastic in learning by fulfilling their school supply needs, and enable students to participate in learning activities properly. The assistance provided included school bags, notebooks, stationery, uniforms, and school shoes.
We believe that every child has the right to a proper education without being constrained by economic problems. Through this assistance, we hope that children can be more confident and enthusiastic in achieving their dreams.
The school supplies were handed over directly by the management and staff of the Damara Bali Foundation. The event was filled with emotion and enthusiasm. Several teachers were moved and expressed their gratitude for the assistance received.

“I am very grateful. This assistance means a lot to us. Now I can go to school with new supplies like my friends,” said Ni Putu Ayu Ler, one of the students who received assistance.

In addition to providing school supplies, the Damara Bali Foundation also continuously provides assistance with computer and English language learning activities for children in remote villages.

This activity is carried out in order to improve access to quality education for students from poor families. Dozens of junior high and high school students participate in this free computer and English language learning program.

The program is held every Sunday at SMP Negeri 4 Abang, Karangasem, with the aim of equipping underprivileged students with the basic skills that are essential in today’s digital and 

global era. 

The activities include Basic Computer Training: such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, basic internet skills, and an introduction to simple coding.

English Courses: covering everyday vocabulary, basic conversation, reading and writing in English.

We want these children to have the same opportunity to achieve a better future.

In addition to learning, students also receive free modules, access to computers/laptops, and teaching staff consisting of local teachers and practitioners who care about the education of children from underprivileged families.

They can now learn computers and English. They had never touched a computer before,” said several students.

This activity has received support from various parties, including donors and Villa Bugis, which contributed equipment and operational funds. It is hoped that activities like this can continue and reach more children in need.

The computer and English learning program for poor students is a concrete step in narrowing the education gap. With these skills, children from underprivileged families have a greater chance of becoming independent and successful in the future.

This activity is part of the Damata Bali Foundation’s annual program, which has been running for 7 years and targets 2 villages in Bali.

With programs like this, it is hoped that more parties will be moved to care about education and take part in creating a bright future for the nation’s next generation.
